Members of the CSWE Council on Leadership Development will share current literature and examples of how various institutions and professional organizations mentor current and future leaders across the professional life cycle. This CSWE Connect Session will provide an overview of mentorship across the professional life cycle. Members of the CSWE Council on Leadership Development will share current literature and examples drawn from experiences with mentoring approaches utilized by various institutions and professional organizations. Topics will include the benefits of mentoring at various career stages; differentiation between mentoring, advising, coaching, and supervising; formal and informal mentoring; mentoring forms and delivery methods; professional and interprofessional mentoring; culturally-attuned mentoring; and opportunities, strategies, and best practices to tailor mentoring based upon an individual’s career stage, personal and professional goals, lived experience, and institutional challenges and resources.
