Dr. Sherrill L. Sellers is the associate dean for academic excellence and innovation at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, a Professor in the Department of Family Science and Social Work, and an Adjunct Faculty Associate at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research. Prior to Miami, she was a tenured faculty member in the School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on the mental and physical health consequences of social inequalities; intersections of race, genetics, and health; and aging and the life course. She specializes in mixed methods, scale development, and the formation and assessment of diversity and inclusion teaching and training efforts. Dr. Sellers’ main professional objective is to increase the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate health and educational services to underserved populations. Dr. Sellers received a BS in American History and an MS in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago, an MA in Sociology, and a PhD in Sociology and Social Work from the University of Michigan.
