Dr. Nancy P. Kropf is the inaugural recipient of the Kenneth D. Lewis Distinguished Chair in Interdisciplinary Health Studies at Georgia State University. Prior to holding this position, she held a number of administrative roles in social work and within central administration. These include Interim Dean of Social Work, Dean of the Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions, Dean of Perimeter College (multi-campus two year access college at Georgia State), Associate Vice President for Instruction and Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives. In these various roles, she has developed initiatives to provide mentoring and professional development strategies for students, staff and faculty at all levels of their careers. She is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America where she previously served as Treasurer, was president of the Association for Gerontology Education – Social Work (AGE-SW), was a John A. Hartford Geriatric Scholar, and is currently a Board member of the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving, LGBTQ Leaders in Higher Education, and a member of the Council on Leadership Development at CSWE. Nancy is author or editor of 13 books and over 100 peer reviewed articles or chapters on geriatric issues, and leadership development in gerontology and social work.
