This interactive workshop will explore strategies the Center of Excellence in Latinx/Hispanic Social Work Practice utilizes to build community capacity for Latinx/Hispanic social workers. It will facilitate a robust dialogue to explore the COE’s comprehensive approach to mentoring, curriculum infusion, community partnerships, and recruitment/retention of Latinx students and faculty.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will learn about a comprehensive approach and understand the rationale for the strategies that the Center of Excellence utilizes to build capacity for Latinx social workers in a diverse community.
  2. Participants will create strategies for their own programs that can assist with progress toward building capacity for Latinx social workers.
  3. Participants will explore possibilities for collaboration between their program and the Center of Excellence.
