Increasing scrutiny in child welfare processes necessitates social work practice grounded in collaboration, justice, and evidence-based standards. Responsive to these concerns, we developed the Family treatment court Implementation Tool (FIT). This workshop uses interactive and roleplay-based teaching methods to prepare social workers to assess courts using the FIT.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the “Family Treatment Court Implementation Tool” (FIT) and its role in assessing court adherence of the Family Treatment Court Best Practice Standards.
Illustrate the importance of process evaluation training for social workers in child welfare and substance use treatment roles.
Promote evidence-based practices in Family Treatment Court settings to improve child welfare and substance use treatment outcomes.
