Dr. Ali-Sha Alleman, Ph.D. MSW, Associate Professor of Radford University is the Chair of the CSWE Council on Global Learning & Practice and a Minority Fellow alum. She received her Ph.D. from Morgan State University School of Social Work, MSW from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis and her BSW from Rutgers University. She has several years of experience addressing economic and social justice issues for women including almost 10 years as a Social Entrepreneur of Ramona's Way, a Washington DC nonprofit focused on the intersection of intimate partner violence and substance abuse. Her research interests in women and entrepreneurship highlight Dr. Alleman's passion in promoting economic justice and positive mental health among women specifically women of color. Her research about Women of Color Entrepreneurs and Well-being examines the intersection of gender issues, race, systemic barriers, geography, power and microenterprise. Her research includes women entrepreneurs from Baltimore, Southwest Virginia, Uganda and Puerto Rico.
