C. Riley Hostetter, MSW (they/them) is a PhD candidate in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver. They hold an MSW from Portland State University and a BS in psychology and Spanish from Iowa State University. Riley's work centers critical approaches to social work and systemic inequities, prioritizing queer and trans communities. Their research focuses on impacts of the family policing system on queer and trans youth, as well as its intersections with youth houselessness. Riley is further interested in research exploring social work history and education, mutual aid, abolition of the carceral state, and social determinants of health.
