SARA MATSUZAKA, LCSW, PHD is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Social Work and Child Advocacy at Montclair State University. Her research focuses on understanding how systemic oppression contributes to mental health and substance use disorder inequities among multiply-marginalized groups, particularly women of color and sexual and gender diverse people. As a LCSW with clinical experience in a variety of mental health and substance use treatment settings, Dr. Matsuzaka is intentional about producing research that can be directly applied in practice settings.
