Dr. Woojong Kim is an assistant professor in the Social Work Department at the University of Michigan- Flint College of Health Sciences. Her research focuses on understanding the diverse needs and health outcomes of those who have experienced adverse life experiences in challenging environments. Her research agenda has been built in two key areas: revealing diverse impacts of intimate partner violence (IPV) on health by gender and race, and exploring health status of individuals who experience food insecurity in underserved communities, such as Flint, Michigan.
