This study examines factors relating to the severity of food insecurity among African Americans in rural Black Belt areas of Alabama using the Social Determinants of Health framework. Revealing factors affecting food insecurity among residents suggests ways of identifying socioeconomic conditions that can be addressed through prevention and interventions.
