This panel addresses how community-engaged research paradigms can and should be incorporated into social work curricula and scholarship. Grounding presentations in a recent special issue of the Journal of Community Practice that focused on community-based collaborative inquiry, panelists delineate the strengths and challenges of this approach for teaching and research.

Learning Objectives:

Define the range of community-engaged research approaches, especially how they pertain to anti-racism, decolonizing social work scholarship, teaching, and practice.
Delineate the strengths and challenges of engaging in community-engaged research initiatives, with particular attention on how to support early career scholars in these endeavors.
Understand how to incorporate community engaged research approaches in social work curricula.
