This presentation would surface the lived experiences of people with disabilities (n=22) who have been victims of traditional and cyberbullying during their childhood. This presentation highlights the types of bullying they experienced and the long term impacts on their self-esteem and self-worth.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify the socio-emotional challenges faced by persons with disabilities (PWDs), including the prevalence of bullying and discrimination.
Upon completion, participants will be able to recognize the long-term impacts of childhood bullying experiences on persons with disabilities, specifically the psychological well-being and overall development.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to recognize the importance of studying the implications of bullying on persons with disabilities, and the continued advocacy and research efforts required to support this marginalized population.
