This presentation will look at ways of health related to Native Americans. It will look at how indigenous practices, culture, and belief systems support our health (biopsychosocialspiritual). Several specific indigenous practices will be highlighted and using educational references shown how a person can move to change and harmony.
Learning Objectives:
Through this session a participant will gain a greater understanding of identify Indigenous ways of health, and individuals role in the world, and how we can try and live in harmony with the world and ourselves.
Upon completion the participant will gain be able to identify why ceremony is an important part of Indigenous health, how we can not separate ourselves from ceremony, and how ceremony can be used to create change in a person.
Through this course an individual will learn about Indigenous experiences (historical trauma, trauma, spirituality), and practices can be used to support individuals and how these practices can be used to support the world around us.
