Dr. Patricia Welch Saleeby is the Program Director in Social Work at Bradley University. She is a leading expert on disability in social work and public health – recognized internationally for her scholarly work promoting the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in social work and the application of the Capability Approach as an alternative framework for better situating disability. Dr. Saleeby was one of the first social workers worldwide involved in the World Health Organization’s ICIDH revision process that led to the ICF. For nearly 25 years, she has worked on education, research and practice using the WHO international classifications such as the ICD and ICF. She serves as a member of the United States Collaborating Center for WHO Family of International Classifications.
