This session will provide a training on the WHO international classifications (ICD and ICF) used widely in health and social systems around the world. Highlights include use cases of the ICF in indigenous communities and social determinants of health along with strategies for integrating the ICD/ICF in social work education.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to define key components of the ICD and ICF classifications including contextual factors - both personal and environmental factors.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe how the ICF together with the ICD facilitate a more holistic approach to health and functioning aligned with indigenous knowledge approaches.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to articulate the relevance of the WHO classifications to social work education and practice.
