Tayon R. Swafford is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana and a doctoral candidate at the Indiana University School of Social Work. His research interests include gender, racial, and sexual identity development over the life course, religion, spirituality, and trauma. His dissertation explores how Black, gay fathers negotiate race, sexuality, and parenthood. Tayon holds a Master of Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in eSocial Work Practice from the Indiana University School of Social Work. He also holds a Master of Theological Studies degree from Vanderbilt University, along with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albright College.
