Deneen Evans, PhD, LCSW (she/her/hers)

Dr. Deneen Evans, Ph.D, LCSW, scholar-practitioner joined the faculty of East Tennessee State University as an Associate Professor of Social Work in 2022. She brings over thirty years of social work practice and social justice experience to the classroom with her career in higher education starting in 2000 as the Charter Director of Diversity at Roanoke College. In 2006 she began her career in social work education at Radford University where she served as the Coordinator of Field Education, MSW Coordinator, and Coordinator of Global Engagement. Dr. Evans is the owner of a group private practice in SW Virginia which specializes in inclusive and equity-focused therapy.
