Jay Joyner is a second-year MSW graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a trans-masculine African American who is dedicated to expanding gender affirming care and other community resources for the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities in rural parts of North Carolina. He is also dedicated to improving the mental well-being and overall health of these rural communities .
