Dr. Wilfong holds a Ph.D. in social work from the University of Louisville, an M.S.W. from Widener University, and a B.S. in anthropology from James Madison University. His research is focused on the intersection of poverty, discrimination, inequality, and treatment services, particularly within systems that include but are not limited to criminal justice and child welfare. Prior to entering academia he practiced as a child and family therapist and behavioral consultant.
