Director of the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies and Associate Professor of Practice at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Begay earned a PhD from Smith College and MSW from Washington University in St. Louis. She began her clinical career in 2004 and never looked back as she still maintains a small private practice. Her interests are in the area of trauma treatment, mentoring, cultural identity and visibility of Native people have been a focus of her work. Dr. Begay enjoys running and summer road trips with her family.
