Integrating Social Work Education and Practice: Enhancing Behavioral Health Services in Primary Care Settings

Expanding upon social work education, the I2PBH initiative equips mental health graduates with evidence-based practices to deliver Integrated Behavioral Health services in primary care settings. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative training methods, this initiative addresses healthcare gaps in underserved communities along the US-Mexico border.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Upon completion, the participant will be able to apply evidence-based Integrated Behavioral Health interventions within primary care settings, aligning with the holistic and client-centered approach emphasized in social work education and practice.
  2. Upon completion, the participant will demonstrate proficiency in interdisciplinary collaboration, reflecting the core value of collaboration and engagement with diverse stakeholders inherent in social work practice.
  3. Upon completion, the participant will possess the skills to assess, diagnose, and treat behavioral health concerns in culturally diverse populations, addressing healthcare disparities and advancing social justice goals central to social work education and practice.
