This presentation describes an exercise that can be used to help students assess any social work education content critically. Specifically, it details the co-creation of a rubric with MSW-level students to examine White supremacy structures, such as the colonization of knowledge, in lifespan development theories.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify at least one classroom activity they can use to discuss topics that may be difficult to talk about.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe how to co-create a rubric with students to build critical consciousness/awareness.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to apply this teaching intervention to their classroom.
