The Displacement Pressure Model will be introduced, outlining the theoretical underpinnings that support its relevance to contemporary social work practice in the context of environmental change and highlighting its application in the context of Indigenous knowledge systems.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe the Displacement Pressure Model (DPM) and its application in understanding the complex dynamics of environmental changes affecting individuals and communities.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify the ways in which Indigenous knowledge systems can be integrated into social work practices to enhance culturally sensitive interventions.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to formulate approaches for incorporating Indigenous perspectives into environmental justice efforts, promoting sustainable and equitable solutions to displacement pressures.
