CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards increasingly emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion, notably in the new EPAS, 2022. Yet, research lacks on students with psychiatric diagnoses, especially in mental health-focused social work courses. Our national survey addresses this gap, particularly focusing on ethnoracial minority students, about 20% of our sample.
Learning Objectives:
1. Upon completion of this E-Poster, participants will be able to identify the classroom experiences and concerns of social work students with mental health diagnoses.
2. Upon completion of this E-Poster, participants will be able to discuss the survey results of the pilot study examining the classroom experiences of students with mental health diagnoses, with special attention paid to the impact on students of color.
3. Upon completion of this E-Poster, participants will be able to apply the implications of this E-Poster presentation to their own social work classroom.
