This interactive workshop aims to introduce a novel collaborative teaching model that builds on community engagement in teaching. The workshop will provide the participants with practical strategies and information they can use to foster community – university collaboration and achieve the integration of social work education and real-world practice.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the transformative approach of community engagement in social work education.
Upon completion, participants will be able to understand the benefits of co-teaching social work courses with community partners, particularly in effectively preparing social work students for competent future social workers equipped with the essential knowledge and skills.
Upon completion, participants will be able to obtain tangible strategies for incorporating community-based knowledge and wisdom into their own curriculum.
