This workshop will explore the intersection of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and community flourishing. Tying in research from Maslow's time spent with the Blackfoot nation, we will look at self-actualization versus community flourishing. Participants will gain insights into how to return to a community centered wellness perspective.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the dual perspectives of Maslow and Blackfoot nation's frameworks, demonstrating an understanding of the interconnectedness of individual and community well-being.
Upon completion, participants will be able to cultivate cultural competency by exploring the nuances of the Blackfoot nation's hierarchy, understanding the socio-spiritual dimensions embedded in their worldview.
Upon completion, participants will be able to translate insights from both perspectives into actionable strategies for building and sustaining thriving communities.
