A proposed mixed-methods study examining the relationship between commonly held health beliefs shared among Caribbean-American people in New York City and its impact on psychosocial outcomes in patients who suffer from lower-leg amputation from complicated diabetes.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to understand the complexity and dilemmas of diverse perspectives of individuals living with Diabetes Mellitus I&II.
Upon completion the participant will be able to understand the impact of health beliefs and culture on experiences with Diabetes Mellitus I&II.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify the need for culturally responsive practices within medical practices.
