The presenters will utilize autoethnography to explain the link between a Canadian social worker and indigenous peoples and rural cross-cultural relationships in social work education. The speakers examine healthcare, trauma, racism, culture, and sovereignty. Explore how experiences affect social work pedagogy, human rights, and sovereignty in social work education
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand personal evaluation as a valuable tool for teaching about worldwide indigenous human rights, racism, justice, and sovereignty.
2. Share personal and professional experiences supporting Indigenous peoples systems to increase understanding in social work. It may be an educational method.
3. Develop a paradigm for indigenous experiential learning in social work education, promoting commonalities and respect in practice and learning contexts.
