Larry Ortiz is Professor of Social Work and also serves as Director of the PhD Program in Social Policy and Social Research. Dr. Ortiz’s research and writings have primarily focused on diversity issues in social work practice and education. Most recently his interests have been focused on applying a post-modern critique of race to social work curriculum and the development of an integrated practice model for social work that incorporates, theory, critique, context, narrative and cultural humility. Beyond his research and writing Dr. Ortiz has held several leadership positions in social work education associations and directed programs at the BSW, MSW and PhD levels.
