Results-oriented university leader with a history of providing high caliber administrative leadership to academic units for social work education, experiential education, community outreach and strategic initiatives. Successfully provided leadership for CSWE reaccreditation for UNR School of Social Work and the University of South Florida, Carnegie Community Engaged Reclassification, developed inter-disciplinary teams of professionals to educate students, faculty, and the public; provided high quality evaluation and grant writing services to federal and state agencies and local nonprofits; developed training programs for academic and agency professionals. Adept in curriculum development and oversight, providing leadership for innovative teaching pedagogy, strategic planning, establishing priorities, assessing needs, and evaluating outcomes for program planning and review. Effective oral and written communicator with internal and external stakeholders. Strong cross disciplinary partnership development skills. Leadership in program planning, community outreach, large scale evaluation and policy development. Provide mentorship to faculty and upcoming leaders in higher education. Demonstrated expertise in obtaining, allocating, and managing funding resources from various sources including public, private, and corporate.
I received my Doctorate in Social Welfare from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, Masters degree in Social Work from California State University in Sacramento, California, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Florida, in Gainesville, Florida. I am currently serving as the Dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Nevada, Reno.
