Erin Harrop LICSW, PhD obtained their undergraduate, master of social work, and doctoral degree from the University of Washington. Currently Dr. Harrop is an assistant professor at University of Denver and a licensed medical social worker. Erin's research focuses on eating disorders, weight stigma, LGBTQ+ populations, and patient-provider communication. Erin's most current research centers on atypical anorexia and features both a mixed methods longitudinal study of individuals with atypical anorexia and a systematic review of atypical anorexia literature. They are also collaborating with Dr. Lisa Brownstone to evaluate a weight-inclusive group therapy protocol for higher-weight patients with and without eating disorders. Erin's clinical work also involves trainings at the healthcare provider level, where they introduce interprofessional clinicians to weight-inclusive practices that honor patients' unique intersecting identities.
