I partner with young people and the community-based organizations that serve them to understand how they build diverse coalitions to create social-ecological justice. My goal is to identify pathways for youth coalitions to increase their diversity and political power in moving society to adopt regenerative practices that will yield a healthier world for all species. Previously, I researched the impacts of youth relationships with animals and nature on youth developmental health and education outcomes. I am partway through a doctoral program where I use participatory and other types of community-engaged methods to understand how youth ecological activism shapes civic development, related individual health outcomes, and the transformation of unjust social systems.
