Joseph J. Frey, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of North Texas. Dr. Frey has over 15 years of practice experience in nonprofit and higher education settings, including work with youth in crisis; youth experiencing homelessness; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) youth and young adults; and higher education community engagement. His research focuses on the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ populations, and emphasizes oppression as a social determinant of LGBTQ+ health.
