Christopher J. Ward is the Graduate Director and Online Program Coordinator for the Winthrop University Department of Social Work where since 2018 he coordinates the development and administration of the Department's online MSW program. In 2021 he was appointed the Department's Graduate Director over both campus and online programs.
He has extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level with instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. Courses taught include statistics, research methods, evaluation research, social welfare policy, social gerontology, community and organizational practice, leadership/supervision, and introduction to social work. Ward has also developed 6 graduate level social work online courses.
He regularly contributes to social work scholarship presenting at CSWE APM, SSWR, BPD, and SWDE. Ward has published in the Journal of Social Work Education, Journal of Baccalaureate Social Work, and Journal of Teaching in Social Work.
Ward is the 2017 recipient of the prestigious GADE Student Award for Teaching in Social Work. In 2023, he was selected to participate in the CSWE Program Director Academy and the York Regional Chamber of Commerce, Leadership York County.
