Katharine Dill, an associate professor, joined the Marist Social Work Program in August 2016. She recently accepted an appointment as the Program Director of the MSW program at Marist College. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from King’s College, University of Western Ontario, in 1988 and a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Toronto in 1993. Additionally, she completed a Diploma in Social Work Research at the University of Toronto in 2002.
With 16 years of experience in the child welfare field, Katharine has held various roles, including front-line staff practitioner, supervisor, agency trainer, and project manager. In 2004, she pursued doctoral education at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, subsequently becoming an adjunct lecturer in the Master of Social Work program.
From 2007 to 2013, Katharine served as the founding Executive Director of Practice and Research Together (PART). In 2013, she took on a new role as an assistant professor (lecturer) at Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, U.K.
As a regular contributor to the Field Educator Journal through Simmons University, Katharine's research focuses on the factors that enhance quality field education practice in social work education. Her passion for improving service user involvement and field education remains at the forefront of her teaching, research, and service to the community.
