Christy da Rosa, LCSW is a PhD candidate at the School of Social Work, where her research focuses on culturally rooted disaster resilience and community-led programming. With a profound commitment to fostering trauma-informed government-community collaborations, Christy seeks to address inequitable disaster recovery outcomes through culturally rooted disaster resilience and trauma informed approaches in government-community disaster planning. Her academic journey has seen her actively engaged in the exploration of ecosocial work, reflecting her passion for environmental justice within the social work profession. Beyond her academic pursuits, Christy actively co-facilitates the Disaster Resilience Learning Network, a network for and by disaster leaders of color in Oregon which promotes the emotional well-being of its network members and advocates for equitable disaster resilience state policies.
