Dr. Kang Sun is an assistant professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Nebraska Kearney. Trained in both Social Work and Critical Cultural Studies, his research centers on health disparities among older adults. His interest in simulation as a teaching tool benefited from his theoretical background in performativity and simulacra, where reality and playfulness blend to reveal the nuances and boundaries of simulation as a tool and environment of instruction and learning.
