Shambika Raut, MSW (she/her/hers)

Shambika Raut is a PhD candidate at the Ohio State University, College of Social Work. Shambika holds a BA in Social Work from St. Xavier’s College in Nepal and an MA in Political Science from Central Michigan University. Originally from Nepal, her prior experience includes working with people living with HIV (PLHIVs) in Nepal.
Her current research interest lies in exploring various dimensions of gender-based violence in refugee and immigrant communities. She's interested in looking at the impact of technology-facilitated domestic violence on the mental health of immigrant and refugee women. She aims to generate applied research for practitioners and policymakers and develop culturally responsive domestic violence interventions.
