Jacoba Rock, PhD, LCSW (she/they), is a clinical faculty member in the School of Social Work at Boise State University, Boise, ID, and an instructor for the D.S.W. program at Simmons University, Boston, MA. Her practice and research interests focus on the strengths, needs, and experiences of incarcerated youth and young adults, as well as intervention opportunities in criminal and juvenile legal settings that are based in evidence-informed progress and disrupting oppression. In practice, Dr. Rock has assessed and advocated for hundreds of incarcerated young people across the country, focusing on those with significant histories of childhood and systemic trauma. As an educator, Dr. Rock has spent the past 12+ years infusing innovation and inclusion efforts into social work pedagogy at undergraduate and graduate levels.
