Karen Kyeunghae Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at California State University, Fullerton. Her research focuses on mental health disparities, improving access and quality of care for people with serious mental illness through community-based agency collaboration, and addressing mental health issues among Asians and Asian Americans. Since 2015, Dr. Lee has conducted program evaluations for three government grants: the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral for Treatment (SBIRT) program and the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) program, both funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the California Disparity project, funded by the California Department of Public Health. Dr. Lee is also a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in California and has extensive experience in public mental health practice before joining the faculty.
