Dr. Yoon has been practicing clinical social work and psychotherapy for more than 22 years. He holds a Doctor of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Studies from University of Oxford, and a Master of Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, City University of New York. He also completed a one-year global clinical scholars' research training program at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Yoon is an assistant professor at the department of social welfare of Sungkyunkwan University. His research interests include minority mental health, social determinants of mental health, and AI-powered digital treatment. He was one of three editors and a contributing author to "Understanding Korean Americans' Mental Health: A Guide to Culturally Competent Practices, Program Developments, and Policies in 2021."
