Corinne Warrener is an Associate Professor of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University and has her Master’s and PhD in Social Work from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Her area of expertise is family violence, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and trauma. Dr. Warrener has several years of practice experience, including working in domestic violence/dating violence, child protection and foster care, and schools. She has experience doing individual and group therapy, community outreach and education, and prevention work, mainly in the areas of dating violence and domestic violence.
Her research is focused on topics such as perpetration of violence, financial abuse, and economic disadvantages of divorced/separated women. She recently worked on a project around veteran suicide and oxytocin with the Laboratory for Darwinian Neuroscience at Emory University, funded by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. She is currently working on an NIJ-funded project to examine campus climate and sexual assault at HBCUs.
