Dr. Kelly Gross has been a career social worker, working mainly at the community level. She has worked in clinical practice with children with special health care needs and families and their interactions with medical and educational institutions. She teaches socially justice oriented courses in micro, macro, clinical evaluation, community building, and power, privilege and opporession. Her research centers informal networks who utilize shared knowledge and mutual aid. Kelly's research agenda includes elevating minoritized voices, focusing on assets they utilize so that service provision is a better match. She is currently co-PI on two projects: Black women's sense of belonging and coping in PWI's and oral history in recentering Black experiences (in a local community).
