Simpson Kamugisha, MSW, is a 3rd-year PhD student at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. He has extensive experience in financial capacity building in underserved communities in Uganda. His current scholarship is focused on the financial well-being of immigrant communities living in the US. Simpson's dissertation will focus on boda boda drivers (individuals who use motorcycles for commercial purposes), their mental health, and their financial well-being in East Africa.
