Dr. Toni Moreno graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Social Work, received her Master of Social Work in Administration and Leadership from Texas State University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. As a former TRIO Director and Assistant Director for Hispanic and First-Generation Student Retention, Dr. Moreno has committed her career to first-generation college student success. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Shetay Ashford-Hanserd researching the effects of Community Cultural Wealth on the persistence of Black and Hispanic women in the P-20 computing workforce pipeline in Texas. Dr. Moreno is an Assistant Professor at Texas State University's School of Social Work when she continues exploring college student success of marginalized populations.
