Ebony Nicole Perez, PhD, MSW currently serves as Assistant Professor of Undergraduate Social Work and Department Chair at Saint Leo University. Her research agenda focuses on the nuances and complexities of the role of social work educators in advancing inclusive and transformative policies and preparing future practitioners for anti-racist praxis.
Dr. Perez has over 15 years of experience in Social Work practice and has held various roles including Behavioral Specialist, Research Associate, Inpatient Psychiatric Social Worker, and Pediatric ICU Social Worker. She received her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction: Higher Education Administration and a graduate certificate in Diversity in Education from the University of South Florida (USF). In addition to scholarship and research, Dr. Perez has served on community boards and is currently serving as a member of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Council on Racial, Ethnic, and Cultural Diversity. Dr. Perez is also committed to Faculty Development with a focus on peer mentoring and supporting the success of Black Women and Women of Color Scholars in the Academy.
