Dr. Barrera's research interests include mental health literacy and Adverse Childhood Experiences within the Latino population. He possesses expertise in conducting qualitative studies that influence mental health care service delivery among Latinos, as well as in developing curriculum to enhance the cultural and linguistic abilities of Master-level Social Work students working with Latino clients. Dr. Barrera is a bilingual Latino faculty member at California State University, Fresno.
