Joy Green (she/her) is a doctoral student at the University of Georgia’s School of Social Work, where her research merges cultural expression, sociopolitical resistance, arts-based qualitative inquiry, and radical Black queer feminism. Through her work, she seeks to explore (and honor) the strategies of resistance employed by Black people of marginalized genders and Black queer communities. She is passionate about discussing culture as a source of strength and advocating for structural change through storytelling. Her areas of focus are deeply rooted in radical social work and collective healing.
