Director of Research
University of Louisville Trager Institute/ Kent School of Social Work
Louisville, KY, United States
Drawing from my extensive experience as an experimental psychologist, I have dedicated my career to program evaluation, particularly in the domains of health care for older adults, child welfare, and post-divorce education programs. Proficient in quantitative, qualitative, and community-based participatory research methods, along with a robust grasp of univariate, bivariate, and multivariate statistics, I bring a comprehensive skill set to the realm of evaluation. Over the years, I have been a pivotal figure in numerous federal grants from the CDC, DHHS, and DOJ, as well as state contracts, showcasing my proficiency in research design, data analysis, and reporting. As the lead professor and chair for the MSSW advanced research sequence at Kent School, I have worked closely with hundreds of students over the past 18 years, guiding them in research and evidence-based practice projects. This experience, coupled with my nine years of online teaching, has equipped me with a deep understanding of effective communication in remote settings. Currently serving as the Director of Research at the Trager Institute and a Professor at the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to my role, encompassing research design, data analysis, and reporting expertise.
