Fernando Ricardo Valenzuela (they/he/el) is a graduate from the University of Connecticut's (UConn) School of Social Work, where they earned an MSW with a concentration in Community Organizing. They have experience in labor and political organizing and are currently engaged in research with previously incarcerated individuals, juvenile justice, and the criminal legal system. Other research interests include climate change, international social work, and power building. Fernando works at the Institute for Community Research as the Project Coordinator for the food justice work.
